Encouraging Words...

So I have been feeling a little bewildered lately. The news is so depressing, the economy's so terrible, devastation is everywhere, gas is like $4.00/gallon. Yet my life seems pretty stinkin' good when I take inventory. It's such a contradiction. My life is great but influences around me are telling me otherwise. I would like to think I am a woman of faith, but when it comes down to it, I am as fearful as they come. My mom came over this morning and lifted my spirits (moms just know when spirits need to be lifted, don't they?) I found this wonderful quote that is basically what my mom told me this morning.

"We must never let fear and the father of fear (Satan himself) divert us from our faith and faithful living. Every person in every era has had to walk by faith into what has always been some uncertainty. This is the plan. Just be faithful. God is in charge. He knows your name and He knows your need. God expects you to have enough faith, determination, and trust in Him to keep moving, keep living, keep rejoicing. He expects you not simply to face the future; He expects you to embrace and shape the future—to love it, rejoice in it, and delight in your opportunities. God is eagerly waiting for the chance to answer your prayers and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He can’t if you don’t pray, and He can’t if you don’t dream. In short, He can’t if you don’t believe. "

That's a beautiful quote Carlie. Thanks for posting it.

Oh, and I'd LOVE to have you come out and do the Tri with me (and Mique if she's doing it). Perfect excuse to take a trip!

Yesterday was a hard day. We had people move in next door, who, well let's just say their not the best (that's putting it VERY lightly. But, in time when we've moved and gotten on with things, I'll have some great, and a bit scary, stories). This quote is what I needed to hear! Thanks!

What a cool quote! I really LOVE it! I feel the same way you do. In fact, I have commented on this to Alan several times lately. I decided I'm not watching the news anymore. It's depressing. Alan said something that clicked with me: the news just reports downers. They don't ever say millions of people had an awesome day today... :) It's good to remember.
